CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's golf team will travel to Gainesville, Florida, this weekend for the Gators Invitational hosted by the University of Florida. The trip will be the Cougars fourth straight tournament in Florida.
The tournament was originally scheduled for March 2 and 3 but has been moved to a March 1 first start due to weather
The Cougars are coming off a second-place finish in Sarasota, Florida, at the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational. Emily Dunlap led CofC with a T8 after a 5-under final round, the second-best individual round of the day against a field with 11 current top-75 teams and several Power 5 programs. Dunlap was named the CAA Golfer of the Week after going 77-67 and birdied six holes in the final round, including on 15 and 16, to match her career low.
The Cougars, who are playing the toughest schedule in program history, will once again compete against five teams in the Top 25 and nine Power 5 programs.
This is the first year the Cougars are playing in the Gators Invitational. This year signifies the 52nd time the Florida women's golf team has hosted this collegiate tournament, hosted twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring.
