Beach Volleyball Travels to Florida for Stetson Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Beach Volleyball team his the road for Florida to take part in the Stetson Invitational. Charleston will play four matches at Stetson, with two on Friday and two on Saturday. The Cougars picked up a pair of 5-0 wins last weekend over Erskine College to move to 3-5 on the season.
The Cougars will open with North Alabama at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Lions sit at 9-3 on the season with wins over Oregon, New Orleans and Nebraska. They hosted a weekend invite last weekend, going 4-0 against Carson Newman, Jacksonville State and Austin Peay. Charleston will close out Friday play with Jacksonville. The Dolphins sit at 6-8 on the season but have won four straight matches.
On Saturday, the Cougars will open up with UNCW in the morning. It's the fourth meeting with UNCW this season with the Seahawks taking the first three. The Seahawks sit at 9-2 after going 4-1 during a trip to California, pick up wins against Sacramento State, Cal. State-Bakersfield and split with Cal. State-Northridge. Charleston ends the weekend taking on host Stetson. The Hatters sit at 7-5 after a 1-3 weekend in California, suffering defeats to Long Beach State, Cal. Poly and Loyola Marymount.
