
Women's Basketball Faces Towson in CAA Quarterfinals

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team will face Towson in the quarterfinals of the 2024 CAA Women's Basketball Championship presented by Primis. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15 inside the Entertainment & Sports Arena.
Charleston finished the regular season 2-0 with victories over Campbell (60-57) on the road and Delaware (102-77) at home. The 13 wins are a program record for the Cougars in the CAA conference.
Three Cougars earned postseason honors. Jenna Annecchiarico was named All-CAA First Team and All-Defensive Team, Jada Logan was named All-CAA Third Team, and Taryn Barbot highlighted the awards with Rookie of the Year, All-CAA Second Team, and All-Rookie Team. Barbot's Rookie of the Year honor is the first for any Cougar in program history.
The Cougars enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed, earning a double-bye into the quarterfinals. Charleston learned its matchup after the conclusion of Towson's second round game versus Northeastern, where the Tigers found a 78-69 victory.
Charleston lost twice to the Tigers in regular season play, last meeting in TD Arena on March 1. Towson is only one of two teams to beat the Cougars twice this season.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Towson finished their regular season 11-7 in conference play. To wrap up their conference schedule, the Tigers were edged by Monmouth, 70-64 last Thursday. The Tigers led 28-22 at halftime, but TU was outscored 48-36 after the break.
The Tigers entered the tournament as the No.6 seed, facing Northeastern on Thursday night to advance to the quarterfinals.
Towson pulled out a nine-point victory, led by Kylie Cornegay-Lucas with 15 points. Patricia Anumgba also contributed to the win with 14 points.
With a win on Friday versus Towson, Charleston would advance to the CAA Semifinals, playing the winner of Drexel and Monmouth.
