
Cougars Remain in Contention at General Hackler Championship

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Zach Reuland shot his second straight under par round and is tied for fifth place following the middle 18 holes of the General Hackler Championship at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach.
Reuland paired his 70 from the first round with a 1-under par 71 on Tuesday to stand at -3, four shots behind pacesetter Clark Akers of Furman. Reuland birdied four times in round two and has nine in the tournament.
Loran Appel had three birdies en route to his second straight 73 and is T20 at 146 along with teammate Kieron van Wyk through 36 holes. Waymon Thomas (148, T33) and Max Dupree (152, T54) round out the Cougar lineup.
Charleston has a team score of 581 and is in fifth place but remains in contention as the Cougars trail leader Coastal Carolina by just seven shots entering the final round on Wednesday.
