
Cougars Travel to Columbia for Weems Baskin Invitational

Charleston, S.C – College of Charleston will travel to Columbia this weekend for the Weems Baskin Invitational. This meet will be broken up between two days with the invitational heats on Friday and the open heats on Saturday.
The Cougars are coming off another intrastate meet at the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by Charleston Southern University.
The meet was highlighted by Savannah Stoutt, who finished first in the 2k steeplechase in a time of 7:07.72. This was her inaugural showing in the steeplechase.
From the middle distance group, Andie Harding entered the record book in fourth place in the 800 with a time of 2:13.34. In the distance races, Cayden Crismon won the 3000 and went from eighth to fourth in the annals with a time of 10:03.65.
Charleston will be facing the toughest competition of its outdoor season thus far with multiple Division I programs competing in Columbia. Luzy Lieger will be looking to qualify for NCAA Regionals in the pole vault while Kaitlynn Bailey will try to lower her school record in the 100.
On April 20th, the Cougars will head back to Columbia for the second time this spring for the USC Open.
