
Cougars Travel West to Face Illinois State

NORMAL, Ill. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team will matchup against Illinois State for the first time in history in the second round of the WNIT. Tip-off is slated for 5:00 p.m. inside CEFCU Arena on Sunday, March 24.
Charleston defeated USC Upstate 78-60 in the first round of the WNIT, recording the first postseason win since 2014. With 22 victories, the Cougars have their most wins since 2010.
Jada Logan paced Charleston with a career-high 34 points against her former team. She shot 13-of-24 from the field and 6-of-9 from three, adding 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double this year.
Four Cougars reached double figures, with Taryn Barbot (16), Alexis Andrews (12) and Jenna Annecchiarico (10) contributing to the victory.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Illinois State finished their season 21-11 overall and 13-7 in conference play. The Redbirds finished fifth in the Missouri Valley conference, with only 2 losses at home all season.
Three Redbirds gathered all-conference accolades, including DeAnna Wilson, Kate Bullman and Shannon Dowell. Dowell was the only freshman in the Valley conference to record three-straight performances of 20+ points.
