Men's Golf Takes Fourth in Stacked Hootie Field

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Hootie at Bulls Bay tournament after recording a 281 in the final round, the lowest round of the day. The Cougars defeated five Power 5 programs and were one of five teams to go under par.

Charleston recorded the second most birdies in the field with 50 over three days and totaled a combined three eagles. Nevill Ruiter, Max Dupree, Jack Tickle and Waymon Thomas all notched one for Charleston.

Ruiter placed inside the top ten at T9 in his first action of the season. The junior played a 3-under final round of 69, one stroke off of the top individual round of the day to go with four birdies. Ruiter climbed eight spots on the final day of play.

Zach Reuland and Kieron van Wyk finished in the top 20, both at T19. Reuland jumped 26 spots during the final round with six birdies to go 3-under on the day. van Wyk recorded three birdies and led the field 42 holes on par.

The Cougars return to action on April 7 at the Mason Rudolph Championship.
