Paris, France – Former College of Charleston sailors Juan I. Maegli '13 (Guatemala), Enrique (Quique) Arathoon '17 (El Salvador) and Stefano Peschiera '18 (Peru) and current assistant coach Ian Barrows (United States) will compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The sailing events begin Sunday, July 28 and conclude Thursday, August 8. 
 
Maegli, Arathoon and Peschiera will all take part in the ILCA 7, while Barrows battles in the 49er.
 
Maegli appears in his fifth Olympics, having represented Guatemala as a flag bearer during the 2012 Olympic opening ceremony. Arathoon and Peschiera make their third Olympic squads, respectively. Barrows is set to take part in his first Olympic games with partner Hans Henken after the duo finished in second place at the 2022 Princesa Sofia World Sailing World Cup.
 
A native of Guatemala City, Guatemala, Maegli finished ninth in the One Person Dinghy in London 2012 before finishing an Olympic career-best eighth in Rio 2016. Arathoon earned 23rd while Peschiera finished close behind in 25th at Tokyo 2020 in the Laser Men.
