
Men's Basketball Hosts Northeastern Sponsored by Anchor Heating & Air

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team returns home on Saturday, January 18 when the Northeastern Huskies travel to TD Arena. Action is set for 5:00 p.m. and is sponsored by Anchor Heating & Air.
STORYLINES

- The Cougars have been on the road for three straight leagues contests. Since 2022, the Cougars are 37-4 at TD Arena with 32 consecutive sellouts.
- Charleston holds the 12-11 all-time series edge over Northeastern and have won the last five meetings between the programs.
- Charleston is coming off a 67-61 come from behind victory over Campbell on Thursday night in Buies Creek to move to 14-4 overall and 4-1 in CAA play. After trailing for the majority of the second half, back-to-back Derrin Boyd triples gave Charleston the 63-60 lead with one minute to play. Clutch free throws from Tavarez helped sealed the 67-61 victory.
- Lazar Djokovic recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. His 15 boards are the most by a Cougar this season. Boyd and Deywilk Tavarez led Charleston with 15 points each while AJ Smith joined them in double-figures with ten.
- Chris Mack's squad ranks 22nd in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (28.11). Individually, senior point guard CJ Fulton leads the nation in assist/turnover ratio (4.52) and is 21st in total assists (104). He needs just two assists vs. the Huskies to reach 500 career helpers.
- Fellow senior Ante Brzovic ranks 11th in the country in total made field goals (130) and 16th in defensive rebounds per game (7.06).
- Four different Cougars are currently averaging double-figure scoring - Brzovic (18.2), Tavarez (13.1), Boyd (12.4), and Smith (10.4).
- The Huskies, 10-8 overall and 2-3 in the CAA, are coming off a 80-72 loss at UNCW on Thursday night despite shooting 54% from the field and having two players tally 20 points on the night.
- Rashad King leads Northeastern, ranking fifth in the CAA with 17.3 points per game in league play. He's reached 20 points six times this season, including a career-high 27 points on three occasions. The Huskies are averaging 68.8 points per game and shooting 45% as a team on the road, with five players averaging double figures.
- Northeastern leads the CAA and is 43rd in the nation averaging 4.8 blocks per game
- The 2025 College of Charleston Athletics Hall of Fame class will be inducted at halftime of Saturday's contest.
- This year's star-studded class includes volleyball program digs leader Marie Dobrenz, baseball program home run leader Matt Leeds, Olympic sailor Juan Maegli, NCAA track & field qualifier Emily Smith, SoCon Golfer of the Year Angie Hill, and legendary men's soccer coach Ralph Lundy.
- Doors will open 1.5 hours prior to tip-off
- Concession stands will open when doors open, and the Cougar Spirit Shop will open one hour prior to tip-off.
