CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's basketball team fell 96-73 to the Belmont Bruins on Sunday afternoon in Charleston.

- After a Chol Machot floater put the Cougars on the board first, Belmont went on an 8-0 run before expanding the lead to 20-5 with 14 minutes remaining in the half. The Bruins shot 58% from the field compared to the Cougars 27% in the half to take a 49-31 lead entering the locker room.
- Belmont opened the half on another 10-0 run to continue to control the momentum. Connor Hickman and Chris Davis Jr. provided late game offense for Charleston but could not close to gap.
- Hickman had a game-high 20 points, his most scored in a Charleston uniform. It is the fifth 20+ performance so far this season from a Cougar.
- Davis Jr. had 14 points, shooting 50% from deep in 12 minutes of action.
- Chadlyn Traylor contributed 11 points off the bench.
- Christian Reeves grabbed a game-high nine rebounds with five on the offensive end of the court. The redshirt junior also contributed eight points, going 3-5 from the field.
- The Bruins shot 57% from the field compared to 31% from the Cougars.
- Belmont won the rebounding battle 41-37. Charleston controlled the offensive end of the glass, grabbing 16 offensive boards compared to eight from Belmont.
- Charleston had a positive assist/turnover ratio for the sixth time this season.
- The Cougars sank a season-high 11 triples in the loss, the third time this season crossing the 10+ threshold.
- The Cougars, now 4-5 on the year, will return to action on December 10 at South Florida. Action is set for 7:00 p.m. in Tampa.
