CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team fell in their home opener to Coastal Carolina in a tight 4-3 battle.
The Cougars secured the doubles point to start the day with a pair of 6-3 wins on courts two and three.
Jake Sweeney grabbed the first singles point of day taking down his opponent in two sets. The Chanticleers took the lead with three consecutive wins in singles play. Mattia Bernardi finished fourth to even the score at 3-3. Coastal Carolina grabbed the final point of the day in three sets.

The Cougars will return to action on Saturday, February 15 at Coppin State. Doubles play is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
