
Cougars Host Elon in Black Out Game

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team welcomes Elon to TD Arena on Saturday, January 8 for the second meeting between the teams this season. Action is set for 6:00 p.m.

STORYLINES
- The Cougars, now 18-6 and 8-3 in CAA play, are coming off a 66-63 win over North Carolina A&T Thursday night at TD Arena. Ante Brzovic had a game-high 24 points and nine rebounds followed by Justas Stonkus with 12.
- Stonkus earned his first career start vs. William & Mary and has averaged 12.5 points and 4.0 rebounds over the last two contests.
- Brzovic ranks third in the nation in made field goals (177), 24th in total points (447), and 14th in defensive rebounds per game (7.00). He joins Johni Broome (Auburn) and Cooper Flagg (Duke) as the only three players in the country to average 18+ ppg, 8+ rpg, and 3+ apg.
- CJ Fulton continues to lead the country in assist turnover/ratio, a stat he has led the nation in since January 11
- Charleston handed Elon their first home loss of the season last month with a 76-62 victory at the Schar Center. Charleston outrebounded Elon, who entered the contest averaging the sixth most rebounds per game in the nation, 40-33. The Cougars shot 49% from the field compared to the Phoenix's 42% and recorded ten steals, the fifth time this season in double-digits.
- AJ Smith led the Cougars with 20 points vs. the Phoenix. Ante Brzovic notched his 15th career double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Lazar Djokovic recorded his second career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Derrin Boyd rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points
- TK Simpkins led Elon with 20 points followed by Nick Dorn and Sam Sherry with 15 each. Sherry added seven rebounds.
- Elon enters Saturday's contest 15-9 overall and 6-5 in league play. The Phoenix are coming off a 76-58 loss at Campbell on Thursday night.
