Women's Basketball Hosts Seahawks in TD Arena

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team returns to action inside TD Arena taking on UNCW on Sunday, March 2. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.

OPENING TIP

The Cougars enter the matchup on a five-game winning streak, most recently taking down Elon on Friday night for their second 40+ point margin of victory over a conference opponent this season.
Taryn Barbot led Charleston with 21 points on the night, while four other Cougars tallied double-digit scoring.
CofC met with the Seahawks on the road in February, fighting back from a 14-point deficit to steal the win on the road. Lara Rohkohl had a standout performance in Wilmington, grabbing a career-high 19 boards in the win.
The Cougars have won five of their last six meetings with UNCW, including the last time the Seahawks came to TD Arena, where Charleston took the win, 94-59
Charleston stands 11-2 at home. A win on Sunday would secure a double-bye in the conference tournament in Washington, D.C.

Scouting the Opponent

UNCW enters the matchup 7-8 on the season, most recently falling at home in a tight matchup against conference leader N.C. A&T. Taylor Henderson led the team in the effort, knocking down 17 points and adding 11 rebounds for a double-double.
Ali Zelaya leads the Seahawks in scoring, averaging 12.3 points per game.
The Seahawks are 4-8 in road games, finding the win on their last road trip to Towson.
