
Women's Basketball Returns to TD Arena

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston women's basketball is set to host Howard inside TD Arena on Monday, March 24 in the second round of the WNIT. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.

- The Cougars earned a first-round bye in the WNIT, competing in the second round of the tournament for the second-straight year. Last season, Charleston defeated USC Upstate to advance to the second round of the WNIT.
 - Charleston enters the matchup with a 24-7 record on the season, tallying their winningest season in program history with a win over Delaware in the CAA Quarterfinals.
 - CofC finished the regular season 14-4, finishing second in the conference after an eight-game winning streak to wrap up the season.
 - Two Cougars earned postseason awards, headlined by Taryn Barbot being named the program's first CAA Player of the Year. The sophomore guard leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.1 points per game.
 
- Taryn Barbot will look to tally her 1,000th career point and become the first sophomore in program history to do so.
 - CofC ranks 1st nationally in turnover margin, boasting an impressive +10.48 differential per game.
 - Charleston forces 23.71 turnovers per game, ranking 4th in the nation.
 - CofC ranks 4th in the country in offensive rebounds per game (16.5).
 - Junior forward Lara Rohkohl has been a force on the boards, ranking 5th in offensive rebounds per game nationally.
 - Taryn Barbot's 40-point game against UNCW tied the program record for most points in a single game.
 
- Howard enters the contest 22-11 on the season, finishing 12-2 in MEAC conference play.
 - The Bison also competed in the Hawk Classic alongside CofC this season, facing Northwestern and St. Joe's in December. Howard fell to both opponents in the tournament.
 - Howard defeated Siena to advance to the second round of the WNIT, winning at home 72-62.
 - The Bison fell in the MEAC Championship game earlier in March to Norfolk State 68-56.
 - The two teams have met once in 2013, with Charleston earning the 79-68 victory in a neutral site game.
