Women's Golf Sets Sights on CAA Championship

SOUTHPORT, N.C. - The College of Charleston women's golf team will compete in the 2025 Coastal Athletic Association Women's Golf Championship from April 11-13 at The Reserve Club at St. James in Southport, North Carolina.
The Cougars are currently ranked No. 43 in the NCAA Power Rankings by Clippd, the highest ranked CAA team entering the championship. The program is looking for their third CAA Championship in the last four seasons, and the sixth overall CAA Championship since joining the league in the fall of 2013.
Charleston is joined in the field by No. 50 Campbell, Delaware, Elon, Hofstra, Monmouth, North Carolina A&T, Towson, UNCW, and William & Mary.
Jamie Futrell's program most recently secured a second place finish at the Coach Mo Classic, marking their sixth top-five finish of the season. Senior Emma Schimpf led the team in the individual standings, finishing fourth, while also leading the field in total pars alongside Emilia von Glahn.
Charleston tied with UNCW at T2 at the 2024 CAA Championship behind winner Delaware. It was the first time in league history that the top three teams were within five shots of one another by the tournament's conclusion.
The championship will tee off at 8:30 a.m. Friday.
