ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Caroline Cassidy and Emily Kreek turned in record book altering times in the 400m hurdles to lead the College of Charleston track and field team at the Sharonda Coleman Classic on Saturday.
Cassidy moved from third to second in school history with a time of 1:01.98 which left her just .01 second shy of Holly Driver's record set in 2018. Kreek jumped into fifth place by finishing in 1:03.44.
Kreek also advanced in the prelims of both the 100 (12.71) and 100m hurdles (14.91) but did not run in the finals. Her time in the hurdles lowered her PR and kept her sixth in school history.
Andie Harding won the 800m (2:17.99), Katie O'Toole took first in the 1500m (4:47.92) and Kinsley Allen had the top high jump (1`.65m, 5'5"). Aine Trapp, Abby Mogg and Bella Hudson followed O'Toole as Charleston had the first four in the 1500m.
The final meet of the regular season takes place May 2-3 in Jacksonville, Fla., when athletes slated to compete in the CAA Championships take part in the East Coast Relays.
