Bertenbreiter Leads Cougars at CAA Championship

SWAINTON, N.J. - Tim Bertenbreiter leads the Cougars at 1-under in T3 after the opening round of the 2025 CAA Men's Golf Championship. The senior is one of four golfers under par, sinking back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18 to end the round. He ranks second in the field in par 5 scoring (4.25) and sixth in overall birdies (4).

The Cougars sit in third place (+5), one stroke behind leaders Campbell and Delaware entering the second round.

Nevill Ruiter played an even par round with a bogey-free back nine and three straight birdies on 15, 16, and 17 to finish day one at T5. Classmate Kieron van Wyk sits at T12 (+2) after pacing the field in par 3 scoring (2.75).

Charleston continues play tomorrow on the quest to repeat as CAA Champions.
