Cougars Travel to Hilton Head for Wexford Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's golf team will continue play at the Wexford Intercollegiate hosted by Francis Marion February 16-17 at Wexford GC in Hilton Head.
The Cougars are joined in the field by Dayton, Gardner-Webb, Xavier, Saint Joseph's, Temple, USC Aiken, East Carolina, Presbyterian, Mercer, Cleveland State, Samford, Western Carolina, High Point, Radford, Cornell, and DePaul.
Charleston is coming off a T6 finish in a stacked field at the Puerto Rico Classic that featured eight top 50 teams. Charleston beat six Power 4 programs in Georgia (#32), Iowa, Louisville (#29), Minnesota, Purdue (#37), and Wisconsin. Nevill Ruiter shot a bogey-free 65 (-7) in the final round, finishing 34 spots in the individual standings with his Wednesday performance, finishing T18. He sank seven birdies during the round, including three straight on holes four, five, and six.
Miles Eubanks and Johan Bredenkamp each totaled 16 birdies over three rounds, the seventh most among all competitors. In his first tournament as a Cougar, Jules Lauer turned in 70, 69, and 72 rounds. His 69 was the Charleston low round on day two in Rio Grande.
