BUIES CREEK, N.C. – College of Charleston saw a rally in the seventh fall just short in a 4-3 loss to Elon on Thursday at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.
The Cougars (31-24) saw its eight-game winning streak snapped and will be back in action later Thursday evening in an elimination game against Hofstra. Charleston defeated the Pride, 5-2, in the opening round on Wednesday.
Charleston trailed 4-2 before loading the bases with one out in the seventh. One run scored on an
Austy Miller ground out before the Cougars left two runners in scoring position.
Miller gave Charleston a 1-0 lead with a double in the second to extend her hitting streak to 17. After falling behind, 3-1,
Halle Cannon homered to pull the Cougars within a run in the fifth.
Cannon is 6-for-8 with three home runs, six RBI and five runs scored over her last three games.
