COLUMBIA, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's golf team finished in sixth place (-9) out of 15 teams at the inaugural Bryan Bros Collegiate hosted by South Carolina September 28-29. The Cougars were one of seven teams to finish under par at Solina Golf Course.
As a team, the Cougars sank 46 birdies, made 178 pars, and recorded three eagles across three rounds. Charleston's top round came in the second round, turning in a 8-under card with
Marno Lange (67),
Loran Appel (68), and
Miles Eubanks (69) all turning in under par rounds in the 60s. Lange's 67 is the second lowest round recorded for Charleston this season. The rookie played 34 consecutive bogey-free holes between the second and third rounds.
Both Appel and Lange climbed 30 spots from their day ones placements to earn top 20 finishes at T19 (-3). Appel was one stroke off of matching his career low round of 67, while Lange sets his career low round at 67 in his second collegiate tournament.
Nevill Ruiter finished T24 (-1), turning in back-to-back 69 rounds to open play in Columbia. The senior sank six birdies in the second round, four on the back nine.
The Cougars return to action at The Bryson hosted at the Daniel Island Club October 13-15.
