
Men's Golf Wins Giles-Spratley Collegiate!

RICHMOND, Va. - The College of Charleston men's golf team won the program's second consecutive tournament with a 13-stroke victory at the Giles-Sprately Collegiate hosted by Richmond on Tuesday at Independence Golf Club.
Coming off a record setting team win at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Collegiate, the Cougars set another record with the program's third tournament win in a single season. Charleston set the tone early, taking a 14-stroke lead at 18-under after the opening round.
The Cougars led the field in total birdies (64), fewest bogeys (37), par 4 scoring (3.99), and par 5 scoring (4.47). All four scoring Cougars turned in under par cards to seal the victory with the top three sitting just one stroke apart in the final standings.
Nevill Ruiter won the individual title for his second collegiate win after claiming the Daniel Island Intercollegiate title in 2021. The fifth year senior led the field in total birdies (17) including six in Tuesday's final round.
Jules Lauer finished in third place after recording the tournament's individual low round with a 7-under 65 to open play on Monday. Miles Eubanks (T4, -7) and Johan Bredenkamp (8th, -5) joined Ruiter and Lauer in the top ten individual standings.
Charleston returns to action April 26-28 for the 2026 CAA Men's Golf Championship at Dataw Island.
