Cougars Open Weekend Road Trip at Towson on CBS Sports Network

TOWSON, Md. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team travels to Towson for the program's lone meeting with the Tigers during the regular season on Thursday, January 15. Action is set for 8:00 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

STORYLINES
- The contest will feature two of the top three teams in the 2025-26 CAA Preseason Poll with the Tigers claiming the top spot and the Cougars coming in at third. It will also feature three Preseason All-CAA First Teamers in Charleston's Colby Duggan and Towson's Tyler Tejada and Dylan Williamson.
- Charleston enters the contest 11-6 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The Cougars hold the 19-10 all-time series edge over Towson and are winners of six of the last seven meetings.
- The Cougars are coming off a 74-70 win over Hampton on January 10 at TD Arena. Duggan led all scorers with 22 points, his most in a Cougar uniform thus far. Jlynn Counter added 19 points and seven assists in the victory. Counter has now scored in double-figures in the last eight contests as he closes in on 1,500 career points. He currently ranks third in the CAA in field percentage (.503) and third in assists per game (4.8).
- With the win over Hampton, Chris Mack's team has won seven straight games. The streak is the ninth longest winning streak in the nation. The Cougars checked in at No. 22 in the latest College Insider Mid-Major Top 25.
- Redshirt sophomore Chol Machot is one of the top shot blockers in the nation, ranking fourth in the country in total blocks (48) and fifth in blocks per game (2.82). He has recorded a block in all but one game this season with his seven at Elon - six of which came in the first half - being the second most in a single-game in program history. Combining with fellow big man Christian Reeves, the only true seven-footer 1-2 punch in the CAA are contributing 15.8 rebounds per game and 16.3 points per game through conference play.
- The Cougars are also one of the best teams in the nation in getting to the free throw line, ranking 31st in both free throw attempts (25.6) and makes per game (18.8).
- Towson enters Thursday's game 9-9 overall and 1-4 in conference play. The teams have played two common league opponents so far in William & Mary and Hampton with the Cougars winning both contests and the Tigers dropping both. The Tigers earned their first league win of the season on January 10, a 87-78 victory at Northeastern.
- Tejada leads the Tiger offensive, averaging 16.7 points per game followed by Williamson with 14.6 and Jack Doumbia Jr. with 10.6. Caleb Embeya controls the glass, grabbing 5.9 rebounds per game.
- Towson leads the CAA in offensive rebounds per game (14.39)
