Men's Basketball Hosts Campbell Thursday

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team returns home to TD Arena for the first of two meetings this season with the Campbell Camels on Thursday, January 22. Action is set for 7:00 p.m. in Charleston.
STORYLINES
In order to sell and/or serve an alcoholic beverage in TD Arena, the following requirements apply:
As fans enter the main entrance of TD Arena on November 3, they will see new walk-through magnetometers, or metal detectors. In addition to the existing Clear Bag and prohibited items policy at TD Arena, the magnetometers are a new added security feature to enhance the safety of our fans.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
STORYLINES
- The Cougars are 17-4 all-time and 15-0 in the Division I era against the Camels. The contest will feature current Cougar Colby Duggan facing off against his former team.
- Chris Mack's program is coming off a heartbreaking 112-106 double overtime loss at Stony Brook on Saturday night. The Cougars trailed by as much as 11 early in the second half in a game that featured 17 lead changes and 14 ties. Charleston's 106 points are the second most scored in a CAA game, third most in a conference game, and 18th most in a single-game in program history.
- Connor Hickman, Martin Kalu, and Duggan all played career-high minutes at Stony Brook while Jlynn Counter recorded a season-high in the double overtime race. ? Charleston has now suffered back-to-back conference losses for the first time since 2023-24, and back-to-back conference road losses for the first time since 2021-22.
- Hickman and Counter led the Cougars over the weekend averaging 19.0 ppg each. Hickman paced Charleston vs. Towson with 20 points, tying his best in a Cougar uniform, while Counter put up 28 points vs. Stony Brook, one off matching his career-high.
- Counter has now recorded ten double-figure scoring performances in a row, the most by a Cougar since Grant Riller in 2019.
- Chol Machot currently ranks fifth in the nation in both total blocks (51) and blocks per game (2.68). As of Thursday's contest, he sits at ninth all-time blocks in a single season in program history.
- The Cougars are one of the top teams in the nation in trips to the line, ranking 35th in the free throw attempts per game (25.3) and 30th in makes per game (18.7). The team also ranks 43rd in defensive rebound per game (27.42).
- Duggan currently leads the league in free throw percentage in CAA play (.941). Counter joins him atop the rankings, leading the league in total assists (40) and assists per game (6.7).
- Campbell enters Thursday's contest 9-10 overall and 3-3 in the CAA under first year head coach John Andrzejek. The Camels are coming off a 78-75 loss to UNCW on January 17 after leading by as many as 13 points in the second half. DJ Smith led all scorers with 20 points.
- Smith leads the CAA in points per game, averaging 24.3. Teammate Dovydas Butka leads the conference in rebounding with 11.6 boards per game.
- The match-up will feature two of the top four scoring offenses through CAA play with Campbell ranking third with 80.0 points per game and Charleston right behind in fourth with 79.5. The teams also rank two and three in team free throw percentage with Charleston in second (0.779) and Campbell at third (0.753).
- Prior to the start of the contest, Charleston Athletics will hold a moment of silence for long time shot clock operator Kevin Sutton. Sutton was a part of our game day staff for over 25 years, serving as our shot clock operator at the scorers table. During his time with us, he worked more than 600 athletic events, including 17 Charleston Classics and three CAA Tournaments, serving through eight head coaches. Today, we recognize Kevin's work ethic, professionalism, and the lasting relationships he built with our College of Charleston Athletics family.

- Add your tickets to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay App prior to arriving at TD Arena for the smoothest entry experience.

- An ADA drop-off lane is provided in the right-hand lane traveling along Meeting Street next to TD Arena.
In order to sell and/or serve an alcoholic beverage in TD Arena, the following requirements apply:
- Moving forward, a valid ID is required to be scanned/swiped for each transaction.
- Vertical IDs will not be accepted at sales locations regardless of the individual's age.
- All ID checks will be handled directly by our Aramark concession partners at each stand. EPI staff will no longer check ID's or provide wristbands.
- No more than two (2) alcoholic beverages may be sold or served per transaction.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Fans will enter TD Arena at the Meeting Street entrance.
- Once inside, fans will be asked to take their belongings out of their pockets and place them in a bin. This includes phone, wallet, keys, etc.
- If you bring a bag compliant with the Clear Bag policy, your items can be placed in the bag.
- EPI security staff will provide guidance on when to walk through the magnetometer and assist in retrieving your belongings after you clear through the magnetometer.
- Finally, approach the pedestal ticket scanners at the base of the stairs, scan your tickets, and cheer on the Cougars!
- Fans can watch the broadcast live on FloCollege and The Lowcountry CW Sports 2.2 in Charleston with the Voice of the Cougars Everett German and Danny Johnson. Mike Ward and Dean Stephens will have the call on the Varsity App.
