
Men's Baskeball Travels to Greensboro for Rematch with Aggies

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team will travel to Greensboro to face North Carolina A&T for the second meeting between the programs this season on Thursday, February 19. Action is set for 7:00 p.m.

STORYLINES
- The Cougars are 6-1 all-time against the Aggies with the only loss coming in 1991. Charleston defeated N.C. A&T 78-62 in the first meeting this season at TD Arena. Charleston held the Aggies under 30% from the field in the second half to help secure the win. Christian Reeves and Jlynn Counter led Charleston with 16 points each. Reeves added six rebounds while going 7-9 from the field while Counter dished out six assists to add to his league leading total. It was the Cougars' largest margin of victory in CAA play so far this season.
- Charleston is coming off a 62-57 win at Campbell on Sunday, the Cougars' eighth win this season decided by five points or less. The big man duo of Reeves and Chol Machot took over, combining to go 16-20 from the field. Campbell's 57 points are the lowest Charleston has allowed so far in league play.
- The Cougars are undefeated in games this season when leading at halftime.
- Charleston leads the league and ranks 33rd in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (27.30), paced by Reeves' 5.12 per game.
- Redshirt sophomore Machot is currently second in the nation in total blocks (71) and sixth in blocks per game (2.63). Four blocks vs. the Aggies would move Machot to the fourth most in a single season in school history.
- Graduate student point guard Counter surpassed 500 career rebounds at Campbell. The Oklahoma City native is 34th in the nation in total assists (144) and 36th in assists per game (5.5). His 144 total assists are currently the 15th most in a single season in school history.
- Three members of the Cougar starting lineup are averaging double-figure points per game led by Counter with 16.0, Reeves with 10.6, and Colby Duggan with 10.2.
- After North Carolina A&T cut the score to one point in the first half, the Cougars took their largest lead of the game at 47-39 three minutes into the second half and never looked back. Charleston caused four A&T turnovers while holding the Aggies scoreless for nearly three minutes to go up 15 after a Counter mid range floater. Charleston ended the contest holding A&T scoreless for another prolonged stretch, this time just over five minutes, to earn their largest conference victory of the season.
- Charleston shot 53% from the field compared to 37% from North Carolina A&T, while the Aggies won the rebounding battle 35-31. The Cougars scored 44 points in the paint and 23 points off Aggie turnovers.
