Townsend Adds to the Record Book at Camel City Sprints & Distance

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Charleston track and field program re-wrote the Charleston record book with six all-time top three finishes at the Camel City Sprints & Distance meet in Winston-Salem, N.C. this weekend.
Emma Townsend posted the second-best time in program history in the 60m dash and the 200m dash with respective times of 7.81 and 25.00. The sophomore's time of 7.81 in the 60m was also a personal best.
Trinity Jones broke her personal record in the 200m dash, set at the JDL Early Bird Invite in December, by running a 25.10 in her lone event on Friday. The freshman's efforts replaced her previous program third best time.
Abby Mogg competed in the 800m running a 2:13.56 for a new personal record and the third best time in program history. Kiley DeFusco raced in the seeded 800m and ran a 2:13.60.
Cayden Crismon shaved nearly eight seconds off her previous personal record in the 3000m, posting a time of 10:00.20 at Camel City Distance.
In field events, freshman Tatum Frith jumped 5.58m in the long jump for the third best jump in Charleston history. Elaine Zhai matched her best pole vault attempt at 3.60m.
Abby Fush jumped 11.68m in the triple jump, marking the third best performance in program history.

The Cougars will be back in action Saturday, February 14 at the Tryon Mid-Winter Invitational in Mill Spring, N.C before competing in the CAA Indoor Championships February 22 and 23.
