Distance Medley Relay Wins at CAA Indoor Championships

BOSTON, MASS. – The College of Charleston distance medley relay placed first at the Coastal Athletic Association Indoor Championship meet Sunday, February 22 in Boston, Mass.
Charleston had 23 athletes compete at the CAA Championships. As a team, Charleston placed ninth of 12 teams and scored 29 points.
The championship DMR team consisted of Abby Mogg, Emma Townsend, Kiley DeFusco and Katie O'Toole. The group ran an 11:43.29 for the gold medal and a new program record in the event.
Elaine Zhai placed second in the pole vault, clearing 3.95m (12-11 ½) to mark a new program all-time second best. Boston Stringer cleared 3.75m (12-3 ½) placing seventh and earning a new personal record.
Senior Cayden Crismon competed in the 5000m for her final indoor performance as a Cougar and placed seventh with a new personal record and program third best of 17:17.42.
Freshman Trinity Jones set the program record in the 400m dash the weekend prior at the Tryon Mid-Winter Invite, before running a faster time of 56.67 at the championship meet to mark a new program best.
In the 200m dash, Gabby Brailsford and Jackie Sides set the fourth and fifth program best times, respectively. Brailsford ran a 25.50 and Sides ran 25.63. Brailsford also tied her personal best in the 60m with a time of 7.84.
The 4x800m relay placed fifth of nine teams with a time of 9:15.34. The team consisted of Lucy Alexander, Sydney Peer, Mia Romer and Andie Harding.
The 4x400m relay boasted a time of 4:00.44 marking a new fourth in the record book. On the team was Jones, Caroline Cassidy, Riley Fisher, and Sides.
Kinsley Allen placed sixth in the high jump clearing 1.65m (5-5) and scored two points for Charleston.
