Beach Volleyball Closes Play at Carolina Challenge

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Fiona North and Grace Toscano knocked off No. 20 South Carolina on court 5 at the Carolina Challenge. North and Toscano rallied for a third set 26-24 win over the nationally ranked Gamecocks to highlight the weekend for the Cougars.

Charleston battled but dropped all four matches at Wheeler Beach, including to a 3-2 decision vs. Jacksonville. In their first competition as a pair, Paige Clark and Alivia Newberg won on court 3 while Sophie Sageer and Madison Loving won on court 4 against the Dolphins.

Boise State, who is receiving votes in the AVCA Beach Poll, swept the Cougars 5-0 while UNCW topped Charleston 4-1. Ella Duffner and Newberg secured the dual win on court 4 vs. the Seahawks.

The Cougars will welcome Morehead State to The Yard on Monday, March 16 for a doubleheader. Action start at 12:00 p.m. on James Island.
