
Johnson Named to Buster Posey Midseason Watch List

WICHITA, Kansas – College of Charleston graduate Dylan Johnson was selected to the 2026 midseason watch list for the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award.
One of 50 catchers in the country named to the watch list, Johnson is batting .330 in 28 ballgames. Starting in 27 of the contests, the backstop has 11 doubles, a triple, two home runs, 15 RBI and a .953 OPS while leading the team with 10 multi-hit performances. Johnson also holds the program record for most runners caught stealing with 43, establishing the new mark March 28 at Campbell.
The award is named after Florida State standout Buster Posey, who began his collegiate career as a shortstop before moving behind the dish his sophomore season. During his junior campaign, Posey earned the Johnny Bench Award, Dick Howser Trophy, Golden Spikes Award and was selected fifth overall in the MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants.
Previous winners of the award include Mike Zunino, Florida, 2012; Garrett Stubbs, USC, 2015; Joey Bart, Georgia Tech, 2018; Adley Rutschman, Oregon State, 2019; Kevin Parada, Georgia Tech, 2022; Kyle Teel, Virginia, 2023 and Caden Bodine, Coastal Carolina, 2025.
