RICHMOND, Va. – The College of Charleston women's tennis team will travel to Williamsburg, Va. for the CAA Championship beginning on Friday, April 17.
"The team is very excited to qualify for the CAA Championship," Head Coach Angelo Anastopoulo said. "The regular season was very competitive and showed how much parody there is in this league. Our squad has shown much improvement over the season and I like where we are entering the championship. We're looking forward to a fun weekend."
Charleston finished its regular season with an 15-7 record and a 6-2 record in CAA play to secure the No. 3 seed in the six team field.
The Cougars will open their tournament on Friday evening against No. 6 Campbell. First serve for the quarterfinal matchup is set for 6 p.m. at the Mackesy Tennis Center on the campus of William & Mary.
The six team field consists of No. 1 Elon, No. 2 William & Mary, No. 3 Charleston, No. 4 UNCW, No. 5 Drexel and No. 6 Campbell.
If the Cougars win against Campbell, CofC will take on No. 2 William & Mary in the semifinals on Saturday evening.
The championship match will be played at 2 p.m. on Sunday, with an automatic berth to the NCAA Women's Tennis Championship on the line.
Admission will be free for all three days of the championship. For more details on the CAA Women's Tennis Championship, click here.
