SOUTHPORT, N.C. – The College of Charleston women's golf team will look to defend its title at the 2026 CAA Women's Golf Championship April 17-19 at The Club at St. James in Southport, N.C.
The Cougars won a conference record sixth league crown at the 2025 CAA Women's Golf Championship. Charleston secured the victory with clutch performances down the stretch, led by Adrian Anderson with two of the Cougars five birdies on the final three holes, to help seal the three-stroke win over UNCW. Charleston ended the tournament 16-over, tying the second lowest CAA Championship three-day team score set by the Cougars with the 2023 win.
Charleston is joined in the field by Monmouth, Towson, UNCW, North Carolina A&T, Campbell, Elon, William & Mary, and Hofstra. The Cougars are the highest ranked team in the field at No. 58 in the NCAA Clippd rankings, followed closely by UNCW at No. 59.
Jamie Futrell's program has won two tournaments so far this season at the Tot Hill Farm Invitational and Edisto Island Invitational. The team is coming off a runner-up finish at the Ironwood Invitational to end the regular season. Molly Hardwick led Charleston with a third place finish to earn her fourth CAA Golfer of the Week honor of the season. The senior was one of three golfers in the field of 89 to finish par or better, shooting an even 216 on the weekend. The Nashville, Tenn., native remained calm through the opening two rounds, sinking a trio of birdies in the first, followed by a pair in the second to break even par both times. She bounced back from a bogey on the first hole of round three with a trio of birdies before turning in her third even 72 of the tournament.
The championship will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 17. The Cougars will play the opening round with UNCW and Elon.
