CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston won its seventh straight match after beating Northern Kentucky in four sets (25-22, 20-25, 25-16, 25-20) Saturday afternoon at TD Arena.

Sophomore Caroline Noonan hit .591 with 13 kills for the Cougars, who improve to 7-2 on the year. With the loss, the Norse fall to 3-6.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST NORTHERN KENTUCKY:

Charleston hit .291 as a unit, including .448 in the fourth set.
Junior Helena Vukovic had her first career double-double, dishing out 39 assists with 12 digs. Vukovic also recorded a career-high 6 service aces and added in 4 blocks.
Noonan had 5 blocks in the victory while freshman Julie Nzambele added 3 of her own.
Defensively, sophomore Jumana Martin recorded 21 digs against the Norse, including 10 in the first set alone.
Sophomore Julia Gnida and senior Gabby Tuiaana both put down 11 kills while second year Makena Parthen hit .400 with 8 kills in the middle.
With Vukovic's 6 aces, CofC hit 10 in the match, the third time this year with 10 aces.

OF NOTE:

Charleston earned the win in the first ever meeting against Northern Kentucky.
Martin had 10 digs in the first set of the match Saturday.
Martin surpassed the 700-dig mark for her career with her 18th dig.
In the three matches this week, the Cougars have held opponents to a .129 hitting percentage.
Three Cougars are averaging 3.00 kills per set or better this week while Noonan is hitting a whopping .625.
