CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston beat Towson in five sets (25-20, 25-23, 19-25, 24-26, 15-4).

Sophomore Julia Gnida and senior Helena Vukovic each recorded double-doubles in the victory as the Cougars improve to 12-2 overall and 4-0 in the CAA. With the loss, the Tigers fall to 8-4 and 2-2 in league action.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST TOWSON:

Gnida ripped off a career-high 17 kills and 15 digs along with 3 blocks.
Sophomore Caroline Noonan tied her career mark with 17 kills while hitting .500 in the win.
Vukovic had a career-best 47 assists and 13 digs.
Sophomore Jumana Martin collected 18 digs Saturday.
The Cougars hit .263 on the afternoon and .538 in the final set.

OF NOTE:

Charleston improves to 16-10 overall versus Towson and 6-5 in straight set matches.
CofC went a perfect 11-0 in the month of September.

Charleston heads on the road to begin the month of October at North Carolina A&T the second and third. Opening serves are slated for 6 p.m. and 3 p.m.
