
Several Top-10 Finishes Earns Charleston Runner-Up Spots at CSU Buccaneer Open

Charleston, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's and women's cross country teams each earned runner-up finishes at the CSU Buccaneer Open on Friday, September 4.
Sophomore Adrian Miller led the Cougars on the men's side, crossing the finish line in fourth place with a 6k time of 19:20.3. Miller topped his previous personal best by more than 23 seconds.
Thomas Flaig and Andrew Catapano also recorded top-10 finishes for Charleston, placing sixth and seventh, respectively. Flaig posted a 6k time of 19:26.8, while Catapano established a new personal best time of 19:27.0. Senior Kyle Nitsche recorded a new personal best of his own, placing 16th with a time of 20:11.6, shattering his previous best time by over one minute.
Sophomore newcomer Sofia Day paced the Cougars on the women's side, finishing third overall with a 5k time of 18:10.8. Abby Mogg followed closely behind, placing sixth overall in 18:18.3, a new personal best for the junior.
Freshman Callie Rohm also garnered a top-10 performance for Charleston, finishing ninth overall in her first collegiate race with a time of 18:25.6.

The Cougars will return to action in Huntsville, Ala. at the Southern Showcase hosted by Jacksonville State on Friday, September 18. The men's 8k race is scheduled to begin at 7:30 am, with the women's 5k to follow at 8:20am.
