Whitney Noble is in his fourth year as the Associate Director of Athletics Communications and Creative Content at the College of Charleston.
In his current capacity, Noble assists with all aspects of the athletics communications office, and serves as the primary contact for the Cougars’ volleyball, beach volleyball, sailing and baseball programs.
Prior to his arrival in Charleston, Noble served as the Director of Sports Information at Gardner-Webb University. Noble joined the Gardner-Webb staff in December 2013 as the primary contact for women’s basketball, men’s soccer, volleyball and softball.
The next fall, he made the transition to men’s basketball while also serving as the primary contact for the Runnin’ Bulldogs’ men’s soccer, volleyball, and lacrosse programs. In his second full season, Noble served as the primary contact for men’s basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, cross country, and track and field.
Prior to joining the Runnin’ Bulldog staff, Noble served as the Sports Information Director at NCAA Division II institution Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina for three and a half years.
During his tenure at Lees-McRae, Noble was responsible for all sports information needs within the athletic department, serving as the primary contact for all of Lees-McRae’s 19 intercollegiate athletic programs while maintaining the athletic website and overseeing Lees-McRae’s web streaming portal, the Bobcat Sports Network.
Noble also played an important role in several groundbreaking initiatives within the Lees-McRae athletic department, including the transition to a new website, revival of the athletic hall of fame, installation of state-of-the-art sound systems in both the gymnasium and the soccer/lacrosse field, and the design and implementation of a new web streaming system.
Prior to his stint at Lees-McRae, Noble served as the assistant director of athletic media relations at NCAA Division II institution Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee for two years. While at Tusculum, Noble assisted with all operations of the athletic media relations office in addition to serving as the primary media contact for men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s basketball, softball, cross country, and men's and women's tennis.
Noble completed his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sports Management from the University of Tampa in May 2008. While enrolled at UT, Noble worked in the Spartans’ sports information office as a student assistant from 2004-07 before being named to the assistant director post prior to the 2007-08 academic year.
During his undergraduate years at Tampa, Noble covered 13 of UT’s 16 athletic teams in various capacities, serving as the primary contact for men’s soccer in 2006 and 2007, as well as baseball in 2008. While at Tampa, he helped write and design several media guides for soccer, baseball, basketball, and volleyball, as well as being the primary designer of the 2008 baseball media guide.
The 2006 Tampa Men’s Soccer Guide, which he helped produce, was selected third in the nation (Division B) by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Noble is a native of Boxborough, Massachusetts and currently resides in West Ashley with his wife, Sarah.
