- Dustin graduated with honors from Lake Norman High School in 2003, where he was the Vice President of the Debate Club, Co-Captain of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and a Beta Club member.
- Dustin was a four time MVP on his high school golf team, 3-time conference player-of-the-year, and the regional Champion his senior year.
- Dustin had 4 top-ten AJGA finishes, including a win at the AJGA Pete & Alice Dye Classic.
- Dustin was named to the AJGA Ping All-American Team in 2002.
- He is also the 2003 Mid-Pines Junior Invitational Champion, where he shot a two day total of 11-under par.
