Jason Kepner completed his 11th season as the head beach volleyball coach at College of Charleston in 2022 after spearheading the program’s launch in 2012.
Kepner has guided the Cougars to a 110-97-1 (.537) record since the program’s inception including four record-setting seasons in the last five years. Under Kepner’s careful watch the Cougars have steadily progressed over the past 10 seasons and have regularly gone toe-to-toe with the nation’s elite programs.

- Went 6-6 in CofC’s first season in the A-SUN
- Posted a 4-0 record against Mercer
- Went 3-2 at the ASUN Tournament finishing third in Pool A
- Only team to earn a point against top-seeded Stetson in the ASUN Tournament
- Sky Benjamin finished her career as the program’s all-time leader with 29 wins in the top flight
- Gabi Bailey and Kyra Thompson each set a single-season record with 25 individual wins
- Amani Dunston and Emma Falk finished the campaign tied for fifth on the single-season wins list (21)
- Maria Zweig, Ella Reames and Sofie Vogel each collected 20 victories
- The duos of Bailey/Thompson and Falk/Zweig both earned AVCA Top Flight accolades
- Benjamin and Reames were named to the All-ASUN Second Team
- Thompson and Zweig garnered ASUN All-Academic Team recognition
- Opened the season with three straight wins against Erskine, UNCW and Mercer
- Posted a 4-1 record against UNCW
- Kyra Thompson and Ella Ridinger went 3-0 and won the Teal Bracket at the UNCW Pairs Tournament
- Mikaela Dougherty and Lilly Johnson claimed first place in the Navy Bracket at the UNCW Pairs Tournament
- Newcomers Ella Reames and Maria Zweig posted a 16-11 record with eight wins in the second flight
- Sky Benjamin and Rebeca Olariu finished the season with 12 wins as the Cougars’ top pairing
- Went 3-2 at the CofC Creekside Beach Classic with two wins against Mercer and one over Saint Leo
- Emma Falk and Logan Manusky were 4-1 when the season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic
- Lauren Freed and Mandy Napierala posted a 4-5 mark in the top flight
- Set a then-single-season record for wins (20)
- Established single-season program records for overall record (20-4) and winning percentage (.833)
- Opened the season with a 13-match winning streak
- Posted several marquee performances highlighted by a 3-2 win over No. 11 South Carolina
- Advanced to the quarterfinals of the CCSA Championship where they fell to No. 4 LSU, 3-2
- Recorded a pair of top-10 finishes at the USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships
- Four pairings earned AVCA Top Flight honors including seniors Devon Rachel and McKala Rhodes, who concluded the season with the nation’s best record (22-2) in the second flight
- Top duo Kennedy Madison and Lauren Freed, No. 4 pairing Allison Beckman and Logan Manusky and fifth flight twosome Taylor Foley and Katja Ehlers also collected AVCA Top Flight recognition
- Rachel and Rhodes advanced to the quarterfinals of the USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships with a victory over their teammates, Freed and Manusky
- Posted three wins against ranked opponents
- Defeated No. 11 Florida International, No. 18 Tulane and No. 20 Florida Atlantic
- Logan Manusky was named to the CCSA All-Freshman Team
- Four of the Cougars’ five pairing finished the season with a winning record
- Allison Beckman and Lauren Freed established a then single-season record with a 19-8 mark at fours
- The duos of Riana Brennan/Kennedy Madison and Taylor Foley Manusky each finished with 16 wins
- Set a then program-record with 11 wins in the program’s first season as a member of the CCSA
- Bounced back from a 1-3 start with six straight wins including a highlight 3-2 victory over No. 18 Tulane
- Taylor Foley and Lauren Freed posted a team-best 14-8 record
- Foley and Freed also won the Black Division at the Jacksonville Pairs Tournament
- No. 3 pairing Riana Brennan and Kennedy Madison compiled a 9-3 overall record with an 8-3 mark at threes
- Posted a seven-win improvement over the previous season
- Defeated Coastal Carolina (Mar. 25) and North Florida (Apr. 16)
- Recorded two wins against UNCW
- Devon Rachel and Allison Beckman paced the team with a 12-9 record
- The duos of Krissy Mummey/McKala Rhodes and Melissa Morello/Kayla Tronick each finished with 11 wins
- Posted 5-0 victories over Carson-Newman and Eckerd
- Recorded narrow 3-2 setbacks against LSU, North Florida, Tulane and UAB
- Melissa Morello and Catey Warren paced the team with a 13-11 record including an 8-4 tournament mark
- The duos of Lizzie Theesfeld/Maddie Hills and Bailey Humes/Grace Rebarchak both finished with seven wins
- Opened the season with five straight wins including a 3-2 victory over LSU
- Defeated Oregon, 4-1, and South Carolina, 3-2
- Andi Zbojniewicz and Sloane White paced the team with a 15-6 overall record and an 8-2 tournament mark
- Catey Warren and Kari Fidelholtz posted a 10-9 overall mark with a 4-4 record in tournament action
- Posted two wins over Georgia State and two against Jacksonville
- Recorded a 3-2 win over Stetson
- Sloane White and Taeler Davis paced the team with a 13-9 record including an 8-4 tournament mark
- Emily Shelton and Catey Warren finished the season with a 12-8 overall mark and a 6-4 record in tournament play
- Kallie McKown and Grace Rebarchak compiled a perfect 5-0 tournament record
- Recorded the first win in program history with a 5-0 decision against Mercer on March 23, 2012
- Posted three straight wins over North Florida, Florida Atlantic and Tulane
- Invited to the Inaugural AVCA National Championship in Gulf Shores, Ala.
- Finished third at three tournaments including the Fiesta at Siesta Keys
- Elyse Chubb and Lizzie Theesfeld paced the team with a 19-17 overall record including a 15-11 mark in tournament play
- The duos of Kerstin Koehler/Andi Zbojniewicz and Kelly Kolich/Emily Shelton posted 17 and 14 wins, respectively
