Biography

Senior (2017-2018): Appeared in the CofC Classic for the fall season where she won the Flight Seven Singles crown with a win over Samford's Grace Jennings (6-7, 6-2, 10-7) ... Was 3-1 in singles play, playing primarily from the No. 6 position ... Went 4-5 in doubles action, playing the lion's share of her matches alongside Sarah Zschunke ... Closed out her career as one of six players in CofC history to earn four straight ITA Scholar Athlete Awards 

Junior (2016-17): Competed in the 16th Annual CofC Invitational during the Fall season ... Split her singles matches, prevailing against Kelly Dodd of Charlotte in B2 Singles ... Played two doubles matches while pairing up with Sarah Zschunke in B1 Doubles ... Went 5-3 in dual singles play from the 5 and 6 position ... Picked up wins against Charlotte Madson of William & Mary (6-1, 6-4) and Sarjana Sudhir of Buffalo (6-3, 6-4) to help the Cougars to a pair of 4-3 wins ... Posted a 5-10 dual record in third flight doubles play, which included a 7-6(4) win against UMass to help the Cougars seal the doubles point

Sophomore (2015-16): Along with partner Sarah Zschunke, won the B1 Round Robin Tournament at the CofC Invitational with a perfect 3-0 record ... Finished the fall with a 3-3 doubles record and a 1-5 singles record ... Appeared in 27 of the 28 matches for the Cougars on the spring season ... Posted a 7-12 record in singles play during the spring, primarily competing in the sixth flight ... Achieved a 6-1 singles record between March 4 and March 14 ... Pulled off a 5-8 record in doubles play, competing with Sarah Zschunke as a doubles partner in the third flight

Freshman (2014-15): In her first year in maroon and white Jones was honored with the Coaches Award of the team...First collegiate singles win was at the home open against McKayla Zupan of Appalachian State on March 8 winning 7-5, 6-3...Had an impressive six match win streak...Only non-senior to win a singles match against UMBC...During first CAA tournment match Jones rose to the challenge and won her singles match against Drexel in quarterfinals. 

High School: Attended The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Fla. and graduated in 2014…Won the state title for No. 3 singles her sophomore year and advanced to the state finals in No. 1 doubles…In her senior year Jones went undefeated during the regular season, won regionals, district, and advanced to state… Captain of her school's team for two years, received the Coaches Award twice and won MVP...USTA Team Tennis National Finalist in 2011 and Semifinalist in 2012...Obtained a ranking as high as 25 from TennisRecruiting.net in the state of Florida...Lettered five times in varsity cross country and won the state cross country championships in 2009 and 2013...Captain of the cross country team...Won the Van Etten Bent Award at her school three times for the athlete who contributes the most service while still maintaining their academic grades...Won the O.C. Garces Award for being the best female athlete with great service her junior year...First and second honors all through high school and was a member of the National Honor Society and was the Secretary of the Chinese National Honor Society.

Personal: Majoring in International Business and minoring in Chinese at The College… Daughter of Gordon and Holly Jones…Says that she Chose CofC because "the first time I visited I knew that the coach, College and the coast were the perfect fit for me. I feel so fortunate to attend school in such a beautiful place and have the opportunity to play tennis under the direction of Coach Anastopoulo with such great players"…Her athletic goals are to "improve physically and mentally to become a better tennis player by training harder. More importantly, I hope to work together to build teamwork within our team so that we may win our conference championship to qualify for the NCAA Tournament"…Her career ambition is to continue studying Chinese and utilize it in international business...Her biggest influence is her father, Gordon Jones because "he has always been very patient and always there to help and support me in my efforts to become a better player."
