A native of Ripley, W.V., Laurel Miller joins the CofC Track & Field program as a high jump specialist from Ripley High School. Miller holds her high school high jump record, and even went so far as to finish fourth overall at the 2014 USATF Nationals in the event. She also competes in the sprints and hurdles, as well as in cross country and basketball. The fourth of five siblings, Miller carries a 4.16 GPA in high school, and has been recruited by the likes of Louisville, Marshall and Liberty.

"Laurel hails from West Virginia and is exactly what we were looking for personally and athletically," Seago said. "With Julisa Tindall graduating this year in the high jump, we were looking for someone to step in and fill the void in that particular event. Laurel has the determination and work ethic that will help our team advance. Coach Tornifolio did an excellent job in identifying both her and Stephanie, and we're fortunate to have both of them aboard."
