Only eight shots were taken in the first half with the Cougars holding the 5-3 edge. No one could get through the net until 33:20 when Morris netted the goal.
The second half was as quiet as the first until 74:50 when Kristin Rhyne took the assist from Jamie Stewart into the net for the Cougars' second goal of the night. Crystal Petroccoro added the team hat trick at 88:21 when she sent one of her three shots past the goalkeeper for the third goal of the night.
Morris and Petroccoro led the Cougars with three shots each, while Diana Jallo and Elfa Erlingsdottir led the Mocs with two shots apiece on the match. As a Charleston edged Chattanooga, 12-7, in shots with the Mocs leading in saves, 4-2.
The Cougars travel to UNC Greensboro Oct. 5th for a 1:00 PM match, while the Mocs host Davidson the same day at 5:00 PM.
