Charleston, S.C. - The College of Charleston women's soccer team fell 3-2 to Northeastern in a back-and-forth battle on Thursday, September 24, at Patriots Point.

Following a successful challenge, the Cougars earned a penalty kick in the 17th minute. Bella Antonio converted from the spot to give Charleston the 1-0 advantage. The goal marked her third successful penalty kick conversion this season, and her seventh goal overall.

Northeastern responded late in the second half, scoring off a free kick to send the match into halftime tied at 1-1.

Freshman Kassy Uzelman put the Cougars back in front in the 46th minute, sneaking a low shot past the goalkeeper. Antonio provided the assist on the goal, giving Charleston a 2-1 lead.

The Huskies answered in the 49th minute, earning a corner kick that resulted in an equalizing header off a cross.

Northeastern scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 61st minute, finding the net on a lot shot to secure the 3-2 final score.

Charleston moves to 3-5-3 on the season and 0-1-1 in conference play.

The Cougars will return to action at Patriots Point on Sunday, September 27th, against Monmouth. The Senior Day match is set to begin at 1:00pm, with the Cougars' seniors being honored prior to kickoff.
