ETSU scored first when junior Jennifer Fields (Mount Airy, Md.) put the ball in from five yards in front of the net at 19:20. Freshman Emily Fulcher (New Bern, N.C.) assisted on Fields' second goal of the season and the only goal of the first half.
Seconds after the start of the second half, Andrea Brown (High Point, N.C.) scored an unassisted goal. The senior took a shot from 18 yards out to beat the Charleston goalkeeper Alice Keeney for the game-winning goal.
With seven minutes of play left in the game, Perri Brenner notched the Cougars' lone goal with a kick from 16 yards outside the goal line to bring the final score of 2-1.
Next Friday, the Bucs travel to Rock Hill, S.C. to face Winthrop at 5:30p.m. before hosting Furman at home on Sunday at 2:00p.m. The Cougars travel to Appalachian State Sept. 21st for a 2:00 PM matchup.
