#articleRelated { display: none !important; } College of Charleston's Kyle Palmquist won the 5K women's event helping the Cougars to a second place finish at the 2003 Citadel Invitational held at James Island County Park on Saturday. John Gillum's third place finish helped the men's squad place third in the 8K event.

CofC's women placed second in the 11-team field, while the Cougars finished third among the 10 teams competing on the men's side.

Palmquist won the event with a time of 19:11.3, nearly three seconds faster the runner-up Molly Mungovan of Furman (19:14.1. Becky Witkop's time of 20:04.5 placed 13th.

Gillum ran the event in 27:13.8, while teammate Ben Phillips placed sixth with a time of 27:26.6
