#articleRelated { display: none !important; } The College of Charleston women's cross country team used a 13th place by Kyle Palmquist to secure fifth out of 15 at the Furman Invitational held Saturday on the campus of Furman in Greenville, SC. The men's team placed eighth out of 16 teams behind the performance of Benjamin Phillips, who finished 25th. Charlotte won the women's 5K event, while Furman took first in the men's division of the 5K.

Palmquist's time was 19:27.78, just about a minute out of first. Charlotte's Cassie Ficken won the meet with the 18:40.59 mark. Patrick Gildea, of Knoxville TC, won the men's event with a time of 25:10.16.

The Cougars next travel to Williamsburg, VA to take part in the William & Mary Invitational Oct. 18th.
