Charleston improves to 9-4 overall and 4-0 in the SoCon and has won its last four matches in a row. Wofford falls to 2-10 and 0-3 on the year.
The Cougars took just eight minutes to score as Ben Hollingsworth took the pass from Troy Lesesne just inside the box and kicked it in for the first goal of the night at 8:32. Lesesne added to his stats as he broke away just outside the right of the box and sent the ball past the goalkeeper at the 26:17 mark. The final goal came in the second half as Tony Myers scored his fifth goal of the season at 77:55 off the assist from Jeremy Gold.
Charleston out-shot the Terriers 20-5 and held the 10-4 advantage in corner kicks. Wofford collected six saves to Charleston's one.
Hollingsworth led the Cougars with five shots, while Brian Carter led the Terriers with two shots.
The College of Charleston hosts 7th-ranked South Carolina Wed., Oct. 20th at 6:00 PM at Patriots Point. Wofford hosts Appalachian State Oct. 16th at 6:00 PM.
