JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The College of Charleston men's soccer team dropped a non-conference road match at North Florida, 1-0, on Tuesday night in Jacksonville.

The Ospreys took a 1-0 lead in the fifth minute of action on an own goal by the Cougars. Following the own goal, North Florida continued to control the possession game for majority of the half.

Matt Lenert sparked the Charleston offense late with back-to-back shots but could not connect, sending the Ospreys into the locker room up 1-0.

Out of the half, Bemanzi Alibaruho had a 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper for an opportunity to put Charleston on the board.

Defense shined in the final ten minutes of action, with Marten Brink and Ben Baldwin both making critical stops, but the Cougar offense could not find the equalizer.

Charleston took seven shots on the night compared to 12 by North Florida.

Charleston, now 7-3-3 on the year, will return to Patriots Point for the regular season home finale on Saturday, October 17 against William & Mary. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. Charleston will honor its senior class prior to the start of action.
