#articleRelated { display: none !important; } In a hard-fought match that lasted over four hours, second-seeded College of Charleston edged third-seeded Davidson 4-3 in the semifinals of the 2004 Southern Conference Women's Tennis Championships.

The Cougars of Charleston began the match by claiming the doubles point. Their wins at number two and three doubles proved to be the difference as each team won three singles points. Lauren Stewart clinched the victory for the Cougars as she knocked off Davidson senior Katherine Hatch, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. The Cougars improve to 19-7 while the Wildcats end their season 17-10.

College of Charleston will take on Furman in the
Championship Match. Furman, the SoCon's regular season victors, downed the Cougars 4-3 earlier this season. The Women's Finals are slated to begin at 2:00 pm on Sunday, April 25 at the Earle Tennis Center on the campus of The Citadel.
