The Cougars took the doubles point as CofC's Gabriela Moreira and Lauren Stewart defeated Bethany Everett and Kristie Wilson, 8-2, at the No. 1 position. At No. 2, the Cougar duo of Maxine Capewell and Rachel Magory won 8-3 over UTC's Christy Fazio and Emily Harpe. The College of Charleston's Jenna Marks and Priscilla Roberts took the No. 3 match with an 8-3 win over the Mocs' Lindsey Ballard and Francesca Guerrieri.
The Cougars took five of the six singles points with only the No. 1 match going to UTC. The Mocs' Ballard outlasted Magory, 3-6, 6-2, 0-1, in a thrilling match to get the only point of the match for UTC. At No. 3 singles, the Cougars' Capewell outlasted Everett, 7-6, 6-3 to take the point.
The Cougars will be back in action when they host Temple on Friday, March 11 at 1:00pm at Patriots Point.
