#articleRelated { display: none !important; } The College of Charleston women's tennis team won all but one singles match and one doubles match to take the 6-1 win this afternoon in the home finale at the tennis center at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

The win gives head coach Angelo Anastopoulo his 250th win as a women's coach for the Cougars.

The Cougars improve to 17-5 overall and 8-2 in the Southern Conference while the Eagles fall to 8-12 and 4-5 in the league.

The match opened with singles action due to potential weather approaching the area and it was the Cougars who came out on top, taking five of six. Playing in their last match at Patriots Point Rachel Magory defeated Stephanie Tyrell 6-0, 7-5 at number one, while Gabriela Moreria downed Ciara Finucane 6-0, 6-0 at number two. Also a senior, Lauren Stewart took the 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 win over Szilvia Zsakay at number four. Priscilla Roberts and Jenna Marks picked up the remaining to wins to clinch the Cougar victory. Georgia Southern won at number three with Charlotte Bruneteaux defeating Chelsea Albertz in three sets 4-6, 7-6, 6-1.

The Cougars and Eagles played doubles despite the match already being decided and Charleston took two of three with the team of Moreira and Stewart defeating Finucane and Zsakay 8-4 at number one doubles and Magory and Albertz winning over Bruneteaux and Reynolds 8-0 at number three. Eagles Tyrell and Wollett won at number two doubles, defeating Marks and Roberts 8-4.

Georgia Southern hosts Wofford April 14th at 1:00 PM for its last match before the conference tournament being held April 21-24 at The Citadel in Charleston, SC. The Cougars have concluded their regular season and will play in the league tournament as well.
