#articleRelated { display: none !important; } The College of Charleston women's tennis team won the doubles point and took three singles points to clinch the 4-0 win over Georgia Southern in the first round of the Southern Conference tournament being held this week at the Earle Tennis Center at The Citadel and Farmfield Courts in Charleston, SC.

The duo of Rachel Magory and Chelsea Albertz took number two doubles with the 8-6 win over Stephanie Tyrell/Kimberly Wollett, while Priscilla Roberts/Maxine Capewell defeated Charlotte Bruneteaux/Heather Reynolds at number three, 8-2.

Magory earned the 6-3, 6-1 win over Tyrell at number one singles and Gabriela Moreira took the 6-0, 6-3 victory over Ciara Finucane at number two. In the only other match to finish Roberts won 6-3, 6-4 against Wollett.

With the win the Cougars (18-5) advance to play the Davidson Wildcats Saturday the 23rd at 10:30 AM at The Citadel tennis courts.
