#articleRelated { display: none !important; } Furman scored with five minutes left in regulation to snatch victory from the College of Charleston and force overtime that resulted in a final 1-1 tie after two deadlocked overtime periods in women's soccer action at Patriots Point Field on Thursday.

The Cougars go to 2-5-1 overall and 1-0-1, while the Paladins go to 6-5-1 and 1-0-1.

The Cougars scored first when freshman Danielle Jordan came in from the right side about 25 yards out and fed it to Hoban at 18 yards, who sailed the ball to the top left corner, bouncing the ball off the bar and just past the diving Furman goalkeeper at 25:33.

Furman knotted the game just five minutes before the end of regulation at 85:35 when Rachel Fry corralled the ball in a crowd of players five yards from the net and sent one of her three shots on the night past goalkeeper Erin Smith.

Gena Villari led the Paladins with five shots, while Katie Browne and Kristin Rhyne led the Cougars with two apiece. Charleston had six saves to Furman's one with the Paladins leading 16-7 in shots.

The College of Charleston hosts Elon Oct. 6th in a 7:00 PM match, while Furman hosts Chattanooga Oct. 2nd at 2:00 PM.
